I am sure it can be replaced with the oil pan on (otherwise it'd be one hell of a replacement procedure), but I always did it with the pan off. Last time I replaced it was when I replaced my rod bearings, and I put the oil pump on before the pan. Rest assured, you can do it your way. I've just had no experience with replacing it with the pan actually on.
 I love elitists who aren't really elite in any way... they amuse me greatly. |
